You have you own home with independence to come and go as you please, and have visitors whenever you choose, with the peace of mind of help at hand should you need it. At Direct Health we believe it is also an ideal option for a couple to continue to live together independently, if one partner has care needs, and the other does not. In these cases it is sometimes necessary for the cared for person to be admitted to residential care, and the carer to stay in the join home, which can be very distressing for both. Having care available on site means that you can continue to provide the care and support for your spouse or partner, with increasing levels of help. Direct Health can provide intensive support, including during the night. Many people move into extra care housing with no care needs, so the mix of occupants can be very varied, with a range of interests. Most courts have a range of activities which you can join in if you want to, giving the opportunity to try a new activity, meet people and make friends, and become part of the community.
